Frank A. Borman, James A. Lovell, Jr., and Gemini 7
Gemini 7 carried Frank Borman and James Lovell on a nearly fourteen-day mission in December 1965. The flight studied the effects of extended weightlessness and tested the endurance required for future journeys to the Moon.
Gemini 7 also served as the rendezvous target for Gemini 6A, producing the first crewed rendezvous of two spacecraft. The achievement confirmed techniques essential to later Apollo operations.
